What raises it above a transfer is the road. The Burren is a limestone pavement that looks like nothing else in Ireland, and the coach stops in it rather than driving through. Poulnabrone Dolmen has stood on that pavement for thousands of years and takes twenty minutes to walk out to. Dunguaire Castle sits on the water at Kinvara and takes fifteen.

That buys the tower, the underground exhibition and a walk along the paved path in one direction. Who should book something else. If ninety minutes is not enough for you, the Cliffs of Moher walking tours give four hours on the cliff path instead. It is about three hundred metres from Eyre Square. Traffic in the city can be heavy in the morning, so allow extra time if you are coming across town, and note that public paid parking is available on Merchants Road itself.
Know before you go
- Seats are not assigned. Arrive at the start of check-in if you want a particular one.
- It runs in all weather. Rain does not cancel this one, so dress for the day you are given.
- Food and drink are not in the fare. Doolin is the lunch stop and forty minutes is enough for it.
- Pick-up is from the office only. Everywhere else is excluded, so do not wait at your hotel.
